Action Research & SDG Localisation
Local Actions for Global Impacts
The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) have repositioned sustainability policy from an abstract aspiration to a clear set of actionable goals and measurable targets. Although the 17 SDGs are global in scope, their achievement depends fundamentally on effective local implementation. The SDG Localisation Program addresses this challenge by mobilising local knowledge, institutional capacity, and community engagement to deliver global outcomes. Developed in collaboration with Curtin University, the program is designed for public servants responsible for development policy formulation and implementation. Participants in the action research programs act as both practitioners and researchers, within the scope of their official capacity to engage with the local community and other stakeholders for experimenting and inventing local solutions and insights which could lead to evidence-based policies at the national level.
