SDG Localization & Action Research
SDG has transformed ‘sustainability policy’ from an abstract concept to a set of tangible goals and targets for practitioners to pursue. While the 17 global goals are as global as they are phrased, they are equally dependent on how they are practised locally around the world, especially in the absence of a global government. The SDG localisation program is a unique approach that leverages local knowledge, resources, and communities to pursue the global goals.
This program has been developed in collaboration with Curtin University for the public servants directly involved in and responsible for formulating and implementing policies. In these programs, the public servants would work on the SDG localisation project simultaneously as researchers and actors, leading to community-level innovations and policy inputs at the national level.
